Chapter 2: Extracting the Precious From the Worthless

Ellyn Davis, author of The Physics of Heaven

by Ellyn Davis

In Jeremiah 15: 19, God says, “If you extract the precious from the worthless, you will become My spokesman.” In this chapter, Ellyn Davis shares how we may have to delve into areas we previously considered off-limits to extract the “precious” from the “worthless” and recover lost truths that belong to the people of God.

In 2006, through God’s inexplicable sense of humor, I found myself with an empty nest and a job offer in Sedona, AZ, the global epicenter of New Age thought and practice. By then I had experienced most of what charismatic Christianity had to offer—miracles, prophecy, healing, deep revelation, transformative experiences of the presence of the Holy Spirit, excellent Bible teaching—and I had been involved in at least five modern-day moves of God in the church.

I moved to Sedona fully prepared to discount everything I saw and heard as coming from a source other than the God I knew and loved. But, as a scientist, I was intrigued by what I found there. I saw healings and mystical experiences and revelations to rival anything I had seen or experienced in the church. I encountered an understanding of the natural world and how it interacted with the spiritual that I had sensed but had never been taught in any of my science classes.

It wasn’t that I wanted to become a New Ager, I just wanted to find out if maybe they had uncovered some truths the church hadn’t. The strange thing was, much of what I saw and heard embodied biblical principles and could be backed up by Scripture.

Of course, I saw a lot of other things too—things that clearly could be attributed to too many aurogra drugs or the demonic realm or the fact that con-artists discovered they could make mega-bucks by becoming New Age gurus. But that didn’t discourage me because I knew that mounds of “manure” usually go with the territory when a lot of money and prestige are at stake (remember, I had been in the ministry and in business for a long, long time).

I was familiar with the principles that “whenever you see a counterfeit, it means a real exists” and that “a lie just proves the existence of a truth,” so I decided to investigate what was going on and bring my scientific background and my faith in Jesus Christ into the mix of my search for truth. I decided to examine New Age thought and practice for anything “precious” that might be “extracted” from the worthless.

At that time, I could not find a single Christian leader who shared a similar interest in finding out if there were truths hidden in the New Age. Now we are beginning to hear more and more revelation that is in line with what New Agers have been saying all along and we are hearing more and more teaching about Christians “taking back truths” from the New Age that really belong to citizens of the Kingdom of God.

The Time Delay

It usually takes 50 years or longer for scientific theory to become embedded in mainstream thought. For example, Einstein published his general theory of relativity in 1916, but it wasn’t until the 1960s that the philosophy of “relativism” became part of the thinking of the general public. Phrases like “it’s all relative” or “truth is what’s true for you” crept into mainstream vocabulary and by the 1980’s courses about situational ethics were being taught in classrooms and corporate boardrooms across the nation.

So a 1916 scientific theory about how time and the speed of light are not absolute but relative to the frame of reference was transmuted by philosophers and social scientists into the 1980’s concept that truth, morality, and ethics are always relative to some particular frame of reference, such as a time period or a culture.

The scientific theories currently filtering into mainstream thinking mainly have to do with what has been called Quantum Mysticism (from Wikipedia: “Quantum mysticism is a term that has been used to refer to a set of metaphysical beliefs and associated practices that seek to relate consciousness, intelligence or mystical world-views to the ideas of quantum mechanics and its interpretations.”)

We live in a decade when 21 million copies of the book The Secret have been sold, when over half a million people tuned in to Oprah Winfrey’s 10 week online seminar with Eckhart Tolle discussing his book The New Earth and when there are over three and a half million New Agers worldwide who embrace some sort of philosophical/spiritual spin on the Quantum Physics theories of the early to mid-twentieth century.

Many in the church have tended to write off all dabblings into Quantum Mysticism as blasphemous and demonically inspired. However, there are a few courageous Christians who are beginning to speak up and say, “Wait a minute, there may be some God truth there that really belongs to us and that we should know about!” These Christians are spearheading an effort to extract the precious from the worthless and make those truths available to the church at large.

  1. Ok, now I’ve read Ch2 and have had my deepest desire fulfilled. I left the church at 19, was born again at 26. But I left because they said praying for healing, raising the dead, etc ended in the apostolic age. I didn’t believe it. I ended up in the occult and learned many things. When I was sovereignly saved by Jesus, God spoke to me in that 1st 6 months very specifically on 1 topic. If the devil can do it, then God can do it AND BETTER. I have spent these last 9 years saying “If Harry Potter can do it, then there must be a God way to do it as well”. I have wanted to “take back” from the devil what he’s stolen from Gods people. This book is truly hitting my heart. I pray by the end for my God given destiny to finally awaken.

    • Thanks for the great comment! Yep, anything the devil can do, God can do better because He is the source of all power–even the devil’s.

  2. Jonathan Cavan says

The New Age talk of oneness and shared consciousness. I believe that the fullness of this is to be found in the emerging body of Christ when walk in sonship. I find that other Christians are being led into similar lines of thought and discovery independently of one another.

With regards tracking New Age a few years ago I steeered clear of all of this now I am very interested in UFOlogy and the link between so called ET’s and the fallen ones of Gen 6. Its a big subject but DNA seems to be something that both satan and God are concerned about…’As in the days of Noah’, today we have the whole Transhumanism, Cyborg agenda…its in the movies and if you dig around its in the ‘Supr Soldier’ govt programs too.

In summary the true path is that we evolve in sonship to channel heavens transforming power. The countifeit is that we become like gods through channelling, genetic modification and merging with tech.

Yes there are key truths that need redeeeming and its great to see Christians daring to explore.

    • Yes, I have also studied the Nephalim and the different beliefs that many of the human bloodlines are now “infected” with non-human DNA and that has caused a genetic modification and that these non-human influences have an agenda to control humankind and all of earth’s resources. Scripture doesn’t clearly speak of such thing, but extraBiblical texts like the Book of Enoch do. My prayer is that as we become more capable of seeing into unseen realms we will see clearly what is going on and who our real battles are with.

  3. It is the Holy Ghost that has brought me to your site and yes, I purchased the book (smiles) Just last week, the Holy Ghost directed me to start looking once again at frequencies, vibrations, and sounds. So, last night, I discovered your site via SidRoth website interview with Larry Randolph. I know this was His direction and confirmation for me that I am to keep on with this study and press in.

Your book is a major confirmation to what the Lord has been showing me bit by bit since October 1996 when He spoke to me and told me that DNA was a ladder. Since that time, I’ve been learning and researching what I could. When I relocated to Hong Kong (2002-2008) that’s when I was directed to research and learn about frequencies, light, vibrations and sounds…. and because the church wasn’t teaching this, I had to go EXTRACT IT from out of the darkness ( the New Age ) I saw online. At present, a lot of what I have learned is starting to connect like dots. I thank Him for your book because it is a major dot connector.

I am along with you on this journey to position myself for what He is about to do. THANK YOU THANK YOU for writing this book.
Please keep writing everything He releases to you to share on the Quantum, because HE IS CREATOR OF IT ALL! He is leading us further into that realm!

    Bless you!

  4. I really wasn’t sure which chapter to place this, but I just want to say how GRATEFULL I am that this book landed in my lap a few months ago. All the stories in here of you guys stumbling upon and discovering the quantum realm sounds so much like my journey too. I began studying Quantum Physics/ Quantum Glory around 2 years ago now, always feeling quite alone in it and often quietly judged, yet I KNEW there was something to be picked up. I joined an online School of Cymatics and began eating up whatever ‘cleanish,’ information I could find on what God was trying to show me in this realm. My interests always seemed to centre around 3 categories, ‘Quantum Health,’ (about to start a blog on this), the literal power of perception and the power of our words and thoughts. I’m exploring a lot more in light and sound/worship but these are the main areas. I’m still reading through your book as it’s almost like every chapter sets me off on a new adventure or putting together missing puzzle pieces from other puzzles I hadn’t finished yet 🙂 and honestly… I don’t think any of my quantum puzzles will ever be fully complete but I’m so incredibly glad I can share this journey with people like you guys. So THANKYOU for pioneering and putting pen to paper. I feel like I could talk for HOURS on all of this and what God has been revealing.
    Looking forward to more adventures!

    Love Katie.

  5. We’ll the timing is never wrong.. Started looking into frequencies 7 mths ago, being a singer I started to experiment with sounds. I did get a bit hesitant because nobody else was doing it too. So I stopped. During a fast I was lead to Phil Masons book Quantum Glory and it appeared again. Hmmmm what is God trying to tell me. There is a new sound emerging and new people with a revelation from heaven. I then only today came across your book who Phil has recommended and only yesterday I was composing some new songs. I tuned my system to the frequency and was astounded at how beautiful the sound was.

  6. Andrea Sager says

My friend and I are in a small prayer group in MI and have been very excited about the information in your book. It is explaining things that we are experiencing, believing and implementing, but which we had not really understood. We just understand that God is doing something. Under the influence of the Holy Spirit, we often begin making a loud, sustained sound at various pitches. We notice that when we come into a significant tonal unity in making this Sound, that TheSound itself changes. We hear the Sound that we are making, but there is another sound, almost a sound of tiny bells that seems to encompass TheSound that we are making. We feel a shift at those points. When it began for us, we primarily made a higher pitched sound, but recently we have begun making a very deep sound. We see visions and have revelatory experiences during these times. It seems to us at this point, that the higher sounds release things from Heaven and the deeper sounds seem to impact earth, but we don’t really know what’s happening. We’re just trying to figure it out. We did have an experience of one of us making this sound right into the back of a woman with a spot of some sort on her lung, a node-ish something. She was going to be scheduled for surgery, but the thing was so significantly reduced, that surgery was cancelled. We had been seeing areas of sickness or disease being the function of compression or compression of particle waves and the TheSound could order the waves of particles.(Again, just trying to figure it out.) . We have tried to look up all the words for sound in the Bible to understand what Sound is to God and to understand what this is biblically. Is there a way that we could send you what we have gathered? The more we have given ourselves to this unusual form of prayer though, the more confirmation we get that it is God. We have started a “Prayer Lab” with just 3 of us to experiment with the break through capacity of this Sound because one of the words for Sound means “to break” and we feel that is a significant function of this Sound. Your book has been just such a source of confirmation and encouragement. Thank you.

  7. Hi just read your story I totally know what you are talking about… I ve been experimenting with this sound for over 18mths… The pitch and tonality is out of heaven. The greatest thing is that is pulls you into heavenly realms. I’ve been able to get together with someone that is going to start producing them as songs. Certain tones will
Have healing abilities and certain tones for release.

  8. Doesn’t anyone see that the contemporary English (as opposed to the archaic language of the KJV) makes it abundantly clear that Jer. 15:19 has nothing to do with the New Age teaching that is being “Christianized” in this chapter? The “worthless” is the immoral and ungodly beliefs and philosophies of the ungodly in Jeremiah’s day, and the “precious” is declaring the truth that calls the people to repent and return to God from all their other false beliefs and practices! Which is exactly what needs to happen here and now in regards to those who have been drawn away from Christ and the authority of His Name to “worthless” and Christ-less beliefs! This teaching about sound negates the need for Jesus and The working of the Spirit!

  9. I posted a comment earlier today (Nov. 9, 2015) – I just reread the ‘Guidelines’ for posting comments and find the second guideline to be disturbing: “Second, this is not the place to … try to point out doctrinal error. Any comments along those lines will not be published.” (Now of course there are those who may want to propose their OWN ideas, but that group aside, what about “rightly dividing the word of truth” as it is being laid out in this book?) It sounds like, “Any comments that do not agree with the interpretation of Scripture from this book will be deleted.” – I challenge you to examine the context of the Scripture referred to in this portion and try to make it say what the author is trying to claim! It just is not there!

Thank you Tim White! They are like lambs led to the slaughter simply because they refuse to read the WHOLE council of the God (not just the scriptures that support their movement). They are preparing themselves for the New Age Cosmic Christ and will miss the True Christ because they did not stick to His Word to learn of Him.

      • Thank you Jennifer and Tim White for taking the time to comment. I’m wondering if you’ve actually read the whole book and not just the short chapter excerpts on this website. In the book, you’ll find that we make it abundantly clear we are not taking a doctrinal stance, but are asking leaders within a certain stream of Christianity what they might be hearing from God about the stuff that is coming out of the New Age and Quantum Mysticism. We’ve never claimed to try to present the “WHOLE council of God,” and I’m not sure any individual Christian or stream of Christianity can make that claim or is qualified to judge other Christians according to their interpretation of what the “WHOLE council of God” might be. And, as far as the comment about not publishing certain comments, the complete guidelines for submitting a comment clearly state that this website is not intended to be a forum for doctrinal discussions nor it is a place for people to express their judgments about what other Christians may believe. This site is simply intended as an introduction to what is in the book as well as an opportunity for those with similar experiences and insights to share them.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. If it is not about doctrine, then what is the purpose? Sound practice is based on sound doctrine. You have the Holy Bible. Why is there even the need to go after extra-biblical “revelation”? It is like Eve hungering after the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. (And we all know how well that turned out!) The same thing is happening here, Satan (as the Angel of Light) has seduced you to also eat of the same Tree. The Word of God is our Tree of Life. I know you would deem me as being very narrow and close minded, but, it would do well for Christians to get back to the Bible and excercise some discernment. Based on the other comments, most of your audience have already gone full fledged New Age and are fully open to rceiving a false christ. Perhaps this comment will land on deaf ears, but I hope you would still post, to give those who are open something to consider. Thanks

          • (Part 2 of 2) – [Sorry for the length]: The Truth sanctifies us – sets us apart for God – it “extracts” us from the “worthless” things and beliefs of this world! Jeremiah 15:19 is grossly misused as the basis for this chapter – this verse does not support or encourage anyone to seek for God’s truth by searching through the counterfeits, errors and practices within the New Age, Quantum Physics, Mysticism and the like! God is speaking to Jeremiah about the “worthless thoughts – doubts and distrust” he was having about God’s faithfulness to him, and that Jeremiah needed to separate (extract) those “worthless” things from his heart and mind and embrace the “precious” truths of God – He is faithful, trustworthy, caring and always worthy of our devotion. If Jeremiah would do this then God would make him His spokesman! And finally – NOTE THIS – God commands Jeremiah to not move “one inch” toward those is error and falsehood by saying: “They (rebellious Israelites embracing falsehood) for their part may turn to you, But as for you, you must not turn to them.” – Jeremiah was to be founded on God’s Truth, His Word and His Character revealed – and there was no room for him to “move in their direction” – not without sacrificing Truth and his Position in God’s Work! Jonathan Welton has said a lot about “when you find a counterfeit, look for the truth that it is counterfeiting” – sounds good initially, but doesn’t this put us on shaky ground when our pursuit of truth begins with A LIE? Jesus is the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE – we find all these by coming to HIM, and HIM ALONE! – NOW – I know that THIS KIND OF COMMENT is NOT welcome on this site (according to your guidelines and your recent reply) because I am bringing the Bible into the discussion – but tell me, if you do not allow anyone to pose a question or compare God’s Word to something that is disturbing in this book, then I don’t think this book is about “rightly dividing the Word of Truth” – (as Paul commanded Timothy to do). To reject any such comments or input that come from someone with no agenda, – I do not know you or have any reason to want to attack or slander you in any way – (In fact, I am sure I would like you as a person and fellow believer!) – but to cut out any Biblical discussion on this very controversial subject is to appear as someone who isn’t really seeking truth, just others opinions and experiences (whose reliability would be in question). “You will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free” – “So Jesus – please open Your Word to us in all it’s fullness so we may really be free!”

  10. (Part 1 of 2) Yes, thank you for taking the time to reply too! (Note: I have read all of the online chapters, AND I have heard most of these speakers many times – and numerous teachings by David Van Koevering (sp?) in person and online teaching specifically about these issues – this book is “not my first rodeo” on this topic). You said in your reply, Ellyn: “we are not taking a doctrinal stance, but are asking leaders within a certain stream of Christianity what they might be hearing from God about the stuff that is coming out of the New Age and Quantum Mysticism.” – The “subjective” nature of such a narrow approach to ascertain what a handful are “hearing from God about the stuff…” is faulty from the “get-go”! Where’s the foundation from which one discerns truth from error, then, if this is detached from God’s Truth (“doctrine”)? Therefore, I have to echo Jennifer’s reply: “If it’s not about doctrine, then what is the purpose?” Jesus prayed in John 17 “Sanctify them by the Truth, Your Word is truth” – so how or why should we expect to hear from God through their conclusions and beliefs that have arisen from the error, falsehoods, man-centeredness and lies embraced within these in the New Age and Quantum Mysticism? Why the fascination with these groups and their experiences – even false religions have “supernatural encounters” at times – but that doesn’t mean they have the truth! (Satan is, after all supernatural, and the father of lies too!)

Tim White, this subject hits very close to home for me. Two years ago I got out of a cult, which started out christian (or so I thought), pretty soon, we got involved in contemplative spirituality; being in the stillness to hear “god’s” voice (ie. what can also be called soaking prayer) From this, our cult leader slowly started introducing more blatantly eastern practices, then gnosticism/kabbalah, new age (chakras, energy, vibrations and frequencies, higher consciousness etc… It began a very slippery slope- by the end, we were openly doing all out witchcraft!
etc.) Before all this could take place however the leader had slowly and very subtly denigrate the importance of sound Biblical Doctrine in our eyes. Supernatural experiences and prophecies took center stage and the Word of God was more of an after thought. I never wanted to miss service because I was so addicted to these spiritual experiences. The part that really hits close to home was that we were told the SAME LIE. That is, Churchlacks power today because we had knowledge stolen from us! So “god” wanted us to glean from the dark side to use it for good. She would say, “Energy is neutral, it’s how we use it makes it good o evil”. Our intentions rather than the source from whence our practices came from was what mattered. By God’s grace I was woken up out of the spell I was under. I renounced all the works of darkness and found my way back to the Scriptures. And what I found is that they are more than sufficient for life and godliness. If the Bible does not have the preeminence in one’s life, then neither does Jesus have the preeminence in their life, for the Word testifies of Him! The New Age can only testify of the New Age Christ. What you seek, you will indeed find.

  11. Thank you

This is incredible! I have always loved science and creation and the Bible. I read and was blown away by Phil Mason’s “Quantum Glory,” and this is turning out to be a favorite as well! I have been saying for so long that the devil gets credit for too much and tries to steal the fun stuff. I can’t wait to delve deeper into finding out how heaven invades earth. It is so interesting! Thank you for your brave pioneer work in this area!

  13. randy blount says

one of the first quantum highlights I received from the Holy Spirit concerned Feynmann’s path intergral formulation (Feynmann diagrams). that approach postulates that the electron actually does all that is possible for it, but the formulation relies on “imaginary” time(i) to accomplish it. This approach actually produces the same results as standard mathematical equations. but for us opens many doors to God’s Word and “all things” because God’s Word must be true because He Believes it ( has ‘faith’ in it ) and His Word–HE–is outside time. I hope the Spirit brings a bit more clarity to this.

  14. Lonna Watkins says

You quoted from Jeremiah 15:19 exactly what ive been knowing for years now. What is available to the church, the new age has embraced and the church in general has steered away from.
